Kang Ultra Stop (also known as Kang Ultra Lodge) offers a welcome stop-over halfway between Johannesburg and Windhoek on the Trans-Kgalagadi Highway, just outside Kang. Ideal for tourists on their way to or from the Okavango Delta, the Lodge offers affordable air-conditioned en suite accommodation, equipped with DSTV. Various room options are available. Kang Ultra Stop features a licensed a la carte restaurant, swimming pool for tired drivers, bar with big screen TV (to keep sports enthusiasts happy), curio shop as well as secure parking. The supermarket and filling station are right next door. Kang Ultra Stop also offers conference facilities. You don’t need a 4x4 to reach Kang Ultra Stop, because the Lodge is situated next to the tar road. 

Kang is on the western side of Botswana. Most people visiting Kang Ultra Stop will simply do so as an overnight stop between Johannesburg in South Africa and Windhoek in Namibia. Kang is also halfway between Upington in the Northen Cape and VICTORIA FALLS ZIMBABWE. Irrespective of where you come from or where you are going to, Temba will be able to provide you with accommodation such as hotels, lodges and self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation. If you want to overnight in the capital of Botswana, Gaborone you will have a choice of hotels and self- catering accommodation such as The Big Five Lodge, Cresta Lodge or Mokolodi self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation. It will take you about 6 hours by vehicle to Kang Ultra Stop in Botswana.

From Kang Ultra Stop it is about 240 km to Ghanzi the gateway to the Central Kalahari Game Reserve. You can also choose to use Kang Ultra Stop as your gateway. If you decide to use Ghanzi you can stay at Thakadu Lodge on a safari farm near Ghanzi, or at the more traditional Kalahari Arms Hotel. If you are heading for Windhoek the capital of Namibia we recommend that you stay at Arebbusch self-catering ( self contained ) accommodation in Windhoek.

If you are on your way from Kang Ultra Stop to Victoria Falls, you have a few options. You can drive with your hired car from Kang to Shakawe on the western panhandle of the Okavango Delta. Here you can stop for a day or two to do fishing at Drotsky Cabins. Drotsky Cabins are 6 hours from Kang Ultra Stop and a fishing and bird watchers paradise.

The Caprivi Strip in Namibia is just north of Shakawe and 7 hours drive from Kang Ultra Stop. You can select your CAPRIVI ACCOMMODATION online. In the western Caprivi you could perhaps consider a lodge near Rundu which is 9 hours drive with a car or minibus from Kang. We recommend Kaisosi River Lodge for famlies. The nearest lodge from Kang Ultra Stop in the Caprivi is Ngepi Camp while both Kwando Camp and Mazambala Island Lodge offer excellent value for money.

You can drive from Kang to MAUN where we can offer a selection of excellent hotels lodges and other accommodation such as Thamlakane River Lodge a new lodge 20 km from from Maun.. You can hire a custom made Land Cruiser from Temba Car Hire in Maun and then visit Moremi and the Okavango Delta.. This is safari country with excellent accommodation. You need a 4x4 if you want to visit Moremi or Savuti. Allow 6 hours to drive from Kang Ultra Lodge to Moremi.

Eight hours from Kang is the Makgadigadi Pans. In this area we offer excellent accommodation at Nata Lodge on the edge of the Makgadigadi Pans, and at Gweta.

Perhaps you need to carefully study the Botswana map before you travel any further. Temba offers very interesting accommodation in places such as Khama Rhino Sanctuary and Woodlands self catering near Francistown. All can be reached within a day by vehicle from Kang.
